There are several golf courses not far from the villa where you can usually get a round at reasonable rates.  Clubs and Trolley hire are available at most courses, although we have no information on hiring clubs at the Don Cayo Club in Altea.

Golf is very popular with both the Spanish and the foreign tourists, so it is usually necessary to book your tee-off times in advance.   Handicap certificates are required on some courses. The courses listed below are a sample of those in the area:

Javea (1) - Campo de Golf "Javea" - 9 Holes x 2, 6641 yds, Par 36, tel : 965 792 584.   Allegedly not the best course in the area, but opinions vary.  Condition of the course areusually very good and clubhouse lunch facilities are recommended.

Denia (2) - Club de Golf La Sella -  18 Holes, 6595 yds, Par 72, tel : 966 454 252.   Great course, fast greens.

Benissa (3) - Campo de Golf "Ifach" - 9 Holes, 3728 yds, Par 30, tel : 966 497 114.

Altea (4) - Don Cayo Golf Club - 9 Holes x 2, 6735 yds, Par 72,  tel : 965 848 046.   Beautiful, varied and undulating course with well kept greens.

Oliva (5) - Oliva Nova Golf Club - 18 Holes, 7051 yds, Par 72, tel : 962 857 666.   Fairly flat but challenging course, with plenty of water features to help maintain concentration.  Condition of course sometimes patchy, dependant on the weather.
