Orba is a typical Spanish country village with a total population of around 1,600 located in the northern part of the Costa Blanca.
It is approximately 20km inland from the popular coastal resorts of Javea and Denia, and a little over a 1 hour drive from the
airports of Valencia and Alicante (both served by many of our lower cost airlines). If you are looking for a quiet break away from
it all, Orba has all the facilities required to support your holiday, including a small supermarket, various small shops (bakery,
greengrocer etc..), banks, a pharmacy, medical and dental surgeries, plus many bar/restaurants.
Some English is spoken in Orba, so a minimal knowledge of Spanish is usually enough to get you by.
In the banks, we have met English speaking staff in the branches of Caixa Rural and Banesto.
While the character of the old village remains essentially unchanged, the surrounding areas have been developed with careful planning, the
hillside residence of L'Aspre being one such addition.
Being a conservation area, each of the villa sites was chosen to blend in with the existing architecture and landscape.
Particular attention was paid to the positioning of each site to offer panoramic views over the citrus, almond and olive groves and the surrounding pine-clad hills. We
honestly believe that our villa offers some of the best views available, and the picture
on this page shows the actual view from our patio out over the village.
Whilst there is no problem driving around the village, some of the side streets are quite narrow, so it may be easier to leave your car at the villa or the edge of the village, and to explore on foot.
The centre of the village is approximately 1Km from the villa.
Orba is in the northern part of the Costa Blanca region, approximately half way between Alicante and Valencia.
