Bar / Restaurant El Cantaro The"El Cantaro" is the closest restaurant to our villa, around 300 metres up the hill. The food here is primarily German / Italian, based around meat dishes, pastas and pizzas - although one of our meals there incorporated the most enormous prawns (known locally as Gambas).  If you like large meat dishes, then the Schnitzels, Pork Fillet and Argentinean beef steaks will be for you. Not the cheapest restaurant, but impeccably decorated and great food.
The"new Forn Vell" is a more informal restaurant a similar distance from the villa, but at the bottom of Bar / Restaurant - new Forn Vell the hill.  It has recently changed hands, and is run by an English family. Literally yards away from the Forn Vell is the "Sancho Panza" (96-558-4000), where the Dutch owner Rudi makes an enormous spare rib meal for around €12 a person. Rudi's wife Madeleine is English, so again there's no problem if your Spanish isn't too good.  Just around the corner the "Venta del Vi" (96-558-3443) is yet again under new management, now serving similar food to that described above at the El Cantaro.   In the centre of the village (1Km from villa) there are currently four main restaurants, the "Awraba" (96-558-3866), the "Plaça" (96-558-3380) www.orbahostalplaza.com, the "Bistro Girasol" (96-558-4354), and the Fish Restaurant for those that like English style fish and chips. Bar / Restaurant - Venta del Vi At these restaurants the "Menu de la Dia" varied between €8 and €10 a head for a three course meal including half a bottle of wine in 2007.
Slightly further away are the "Bar Piscina" (96-558-3372) where the Italian chef specialises in pizzas (€5 to €8 each), and the "El Quijote" (96-558-3388). However, both of these may require a drive unless you are feeling energetic (up to 1.5Km from the villa). Additionally, there are many bars where snacks (tapas) are usually available.

*** LATEST NEWS from Orba is that after the heavy rainfall in mid-October, the "El Quijote" has been badly damaged and will be out of commission for the foreseeable future. We believe that the Indian restaurant "Maharajah" out by the garage on the road to Jalon has also been affected.
